Does Sierra Sports take my insurance?

We are an out-of-network, direct pay facility. This is actually advantageous to you as our client. Here is why.

With insurance premiums, deductibles, co-insurance, and co-payments, insurance companies are making billions a year.  You may think this profit goes to your doctor or therapist. But the truth is it does not. In order for insurance companies to profit, they have consistently cut reimbursement to your health care providers (doctors and therapists) year after year.  In order for providers to maintain their businesses, they need to increase income.  In most cases, this results in sacrificing the care of the patient.  Providers have to see multiple patients at a time, prescribe unnecessary treatments, use techs or aides with little to no training, and prescribe more visits than necessary.  It is an inefficient system that leaves both the patient and the clinician at the mercy of the insurance company.  This creates situations and experiences that can be disappointing, frustrating, and confusing.

Do I need a referral/script to come to Sierra Sports?

No. Fortunately, the state of Nevada allows individuals direct access to physical therapy. Research consistently proves that patients who see a physical therapist PRIOR to seeing a physician save significant time and money in addressing musculoskeletal pain and get back to their activities much sooner. In addition, you are more likely to avoid unnecessary MRIs, injections, and surgeries.  If you are referred to us by your physician or trainer, we will certainly stay in constant contact with them so they are kept up to date with your progress.
