Kevin Wright, PT, DPT, COMT, SCS, FAAOMPT

Doctor of Physical Therapy

Owner of Sierra Sports Physical Therapy and Performance

Kevin graduated from Eastern Washington University’s Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program in 2013. He spent the first eight years of his career in Washington State, primarily in sports medicine and strength and conditioning. He managed a sports performance, basketball training, and PT facility in Spokane, Washington, where he worked with high school, collegiate and professional level athletes/teams in injury prevention, strength and conditioning, and rehabilitation. He moved to Reno in 2021 with his wife and two sons to be closer to family and enjoy all the sunshine and outdoor activities that the area has to offer. Kevin is a Board Certified Sports Clinical Specialist (SCS), a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT), and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy (FAAOMPT).  Fellowship training is an additional, intensive program for physical therapists to pursue after completing a residency or becoming a board certified specialist.  Kevin is one of four PTs in the Reno area with fellowship training, establishing himself as an expert in manual therapy and sports medicine subspecialties.   He has trained from, and alongside, some of the most well-known sports PTs in the country who provide care for multiple professional and Division I programs.  Less than 1% of PTs have completed fellowship level training.  Kevin believes that proper exercise is medicine, and he uses a variety of techniques, approaches, and education to maximize his patient’s recovery and confidence. He enjoys building relationships with his patients and personalizing his approach to help his patients reach their specific goals. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time outside with his family, golfing, and rooting on the University of Washington Huskies.
